…In this third-person narrative-driven survival horror game set in the jazz/noir-era of the 1930s.
Stranded and injured in the dead of night after an unfortunate automobile accident, players must investigate a nearby dilapidated mansion and interact with their surroundings in search of aid and answers. White Night challenges players to confront the nightmares of the past on an adventure in which darkness is the enemy… and darkness is everywhere.
An “Old school” survival horror
A launching game for the independent OSome Studio’s, White Night is both a survival horror and an homage to the first survival horror while developing its own identity. Set in America’s early thirties, the game offers to live the nightmare of a man, hurt and trapped in an old family manor where darkness is a constant threat.
Puzzles of lights and shadows
In order to survive this long night, the player will have to solve puzzles based on the use of light. His safety will depend on the different light sources scattered all around the manor. Some will be fragile, while the most powerful will take efforts to be reached… But if darkness is active and lethal, a mysterious presence will also enlighten the night.

Filled with lunar and feminine symbolism, psychological horror and melancholy, the story of the game will unfold as the player discovers the dark events which built the manor a past, spinning a yarn in the style of an old noir story that you would be reading at candle light.
White Night stands at the crossroads of fantastic literature, cinema and videogames. Its gameplay-motivated artistic direction – an intensely contrasted black and white – was inspired by masterpieces film noire genre and the threatening perspectives of German expressionism.
In White Night, light draws a discontinuous line between form and substance, a road mark leading from life to death. It’s a trying journey to the heart of darkness, a journey of no return sometimes one has to accomplish in his existence.

Projet de lancement du studio indépendant OSome, White Night est un survival horror qui rend hommage aux premier survival horror du genre tout en cultivant sa propre identité. Dans l’Amérique des années 30, il propose de vivre le cauchemar d’un homme blessé, prisonnier d’un vieux manoir familial où l’obscurité est une menace permanente.
Puzzles d’ombres et de lumières
Pour survivre à sa nuit blanche, le joueur devra résoudre des puzzles basés sur l’utilisation de la lumière. Son salut tiendra aux différentes sources de lumière dispersées au gré du manoir. Certaines seront fragiles, d’autres, plus puissantes, devront se mériter… Et si les ténèbres sont vivantes et mortelles, une mystérieuse présence illuminera la nuit…
Références culturelles fortes
L’histoire du jeu, baignée de symbolisme lunaire et féminin, d’horreur psychologique et de mélancolie, s’écrit au fil de la découverte du manoir et de son sinistre passé – à la manière d’un vieux polar que l’on feuillette à la bougie.
White Night se vit comme la rencontre entre la littérature fantastique, le cinéma et le jeu vidéo. Son noir et blanc intensément contrasté, directement lié au gameplay, s’inspire tant des chefs d’œuvres du film noir que des perspectives menaçantes de l’expressionnisme allemand.
Dans White Night, la lumière trace une ligne discontinue entre le fond et la forme, la vie et la mort. C’est un voyage éprouvant au cœur des ténèbres, celui qu’un homme doit parfois accomplir dans son existence…
