Un logiciel dédié à l'édition de fontes sonores au format ".sf2", par Davy Triponney (mezzoforte).

Polyphone est un logiciel dédié à l'édition de fontes sonores au format ".sf2".
Ces fichiers contiennent une multitude d'échantillons audio mis ensemble et configurés de manière à former des instruments de musique qui peuvent être utilisés par des synthétiseurs tels que fluidsynth et joué à l'aide d'un clavier MIDI.

L'objectif de Polyphone est de fournir :
• une interface simple et efficace permettant de créer et éditer des fichiers ".sf2", disponibles sur Windows, Mac OS X et Linux,
• des outils pour faciliter et automatiser l'édition de différents paramètres, ce qui permet de traiter une grande quantité de données.

Polyphone est distribué sous licence GNU General Public License. N'importe qui peut donc accéder au code source, et est la bienvenue pour aider à l'élaboration du programme.

Polyphone is a free software for editing soundfonts in format sf2.
These files contain a multitude of audio samples put together and configured so as to form musical instruments that can be used by synthesizers such as fluidsynth and played using a MIDI keyboard.

The goal of Polyphone is to provide:

• a simple and efficient interface for creating and editing .sf2 files, available on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux,
• tools to facilitate and automate the editing of different parameters, making it possible to handle a large amount of data.

Polyphone is licensed under GNU General Public License. Anyone may thus access the source code, and is welcome to help in the development of the program.

Test de fonctionnement.
Cerise sur le gâteau, un paquet Debian est disponible et il ne pose aucun problème de dépendances à l'installation via gdebi.
Pour les tests, j'ai téléchargé quelques soundfont (voir la section "Resources") et les ai testé sous l'interface (à l'aide de ma souris, je n'ai pas encore de clavier MIDI, mais çà me démange :).
Un vrai plaisir de jouer avec cette interface. Bien-sûr je n'ai aucune connaissance dans le domaine (j'ai eut autrefois un clavier MIDI que je branchais sur ma Soundblaster) et encore moins en musique, et donc je fais n'importe quoi mais c'est plutôt addictif.
L'interface est de très bonne qualité.
