Outlast est un survival horror mettant l'accent sur l'ambiance et une expérience interactive dans laquelle le joueur entre dans un voyage émotionnel inoubliable.

Dans les montagnes reculées du Colorado, des horreurs attendent à l'intérieur de l'asile de l'institut Mount Massive Asylum. Une maison pour malades mentaux abandonnée depuis longtemps, rouverte récemment par la branche "Recherche et Charité" de la multinationale Murkoff Corporation, a été exploitée dans le plus grand secret ... jusqu'à maintenant.

Agissant sur un renseignement d'une source interne, le journaliste indépendant Miles Upshur fait irruption dans l'établissement, et ce qu'il découvre est un fil terrifiant liant science et religion, nature et toute autre chose. Une fois à l'intérieur, son seul espoir de s'échapper tient à la terrible vérité au cœur de Mount Massive.

In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the "research and charity" branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy... until now.

Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.
