Championship
Race your way through increasingly challenging rallies, earn credits and upgrade your ride. You can also build your own Custom Championship with a roster of races from any Rally, Hillclimb or Rallycross event and choose the AI difficulty, weather, and time of day for each race.
Rally Events
This classic race discipline is all about racing from point-to-point in the fastest time possible. Compete on various surfaces and in a range of conditions, all in highly modified road-legal cars. A rally consists of several stages, so treat your car with respect or you might not make it through them all.
Hillclimb Events
As you might guess from the name, these are races to reach the top of hills. Like regular rally, you compete against the clock and the quickest to the top wins, but Hillclimb requires a special type of car with huge horsepower and massive downforce. DiRT Rally features the most famous Hillclimb of all: the Pikes Peak course in Colorado, USA.
Rallycross Events
This is where rally meets circuit racing. Compete in short races with up to six cars on the track. A 'Joker' lap adds a bit of spice by lengthening one of the laps with an extra section of track, usually one with a tricky gravel surface.
Team Management
Damage to your rally car is inevitable, so you'll need an ace crew to keep you on the road and in the race. Use credits to hire Engineers for serving and upgrading the key components in your car. The higher an Engineer's skill with a specific component, the better they'll be at fixing it. Tailor your team to the way you drive!
Online Championship and Leagues
Buy or rent Rallycross cars to compete head-to-head against DiRT Rally drivers from all over the world. Jump straight into a race in Quick Join, or participate in a Championship Playlist or Online Custom Championship. Feeling creative? Then make your own Custom Championship and dare your rivals to compete.
Online Events
Get your competitive spirit into gear. Take on DiRT Rally drivers from around the world and try to set the best times on daily, weekly and monthly leaderboards. Place in the top three tiers and you'll earn major credits.
Garage
Check out the vehicles you own and lust after those you don't. Spend those hard-earned credits from the Championship and Online Events to buy new cars and change their liveries. There are over 40 cars to unlock in DiRT Rally including the iconic 2001 Subaru Impreza, the classic 1980 Renault 5 Turbo and the reigning WRC champion car: the Volkswagen Polo R WRC.

Sun-baked tracks snake through the hills and mountains of the Argolis region in the Peloponnese. Not for the faint-hearted: loose gravel roads, abrupt hairpin bends and narrow, vertiginous trails test the nerve of even the most confident drivers. Best not cut any corners on this one; a sheer drop awaits those who try and fail.

Monaco’s world-famous Monte Carlo rally takes you on narrow roads through the forested and mountainous region of the principality. This rally may be on seemingly friendly tarmac, but the wintery conditions complicate matters: ice and snow create a treacherous surface, while fog limits your view of the upcoming road. A co-driver’s pace notes have never been so important.

Surfaces: Heavy, medium and light gravel
The tree-lined tracks in the heart of the Welsh countryside are perfect for rallying. Waver from the middle of one of these narrow roads and you’ll encounter ditches, banks and fences – and even one clip could send a speeding rally car into a spin. When it rains, and in Wales it frequently does, roads become slippery and a racing line becomes even more difficult to maintain. Watch out for those puddles, too – they can be deeper than they first appear…

The world’s preeminent Hillclimb rally may take place on nice wide tarmac roads, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’ll be easy. You’ll need a car with awesome horsepower if you’re to make it to the top in good time, and it’s a battle to keep these cars on the road, especially when that nice tarmac gives way to gravel. Oh, and have fun in those hairpins.

The birthplace of Rallycross, Lydden Hill is the perfect venue to showcase the discipline. This is where rally meets circuit racing, with drivers going head-to-head on courses composed of dirt and tarmac sections. You must able to adapt to the sudden change in the surface and style of racing – it's a full contact sport, so don’t be afraid to race elbows-out.

The Finnish rally is characterized by its fast, tight, undulating roads. Its stages run through the country’s vast wooded regions, where jumps are frequent and perilous. At this speed, there’s no margin for error; if you don’t plan ahead and position the car correctly for landing, you will total it.

With an asphalt to gravel ratio of roughly 2:1, expect the racing on Norway’s premier Rallycross circuit to be fast and furious, with plenty of opportunities for powerslides and overtaking. Rallying through Värmland in winter means snowbound stages and lots of them. Most of the snow is piled up on the roadside, but even these soft snow piles are a serious hazard. Nudge one and your car gets pulled off the road or worse: you’ll flip it. And when fresh snow falls, visibility drops to just a few metres. Elsewhere in the country, the venue for Sweden’s own Rallycross event is Höljes, a circuit with myriad routes, chicanes and fast jumps.

Dirt Rally (stylised as DiRT Rally) is a racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for Microsoft Windows. A Steam Early Access version of the game was released on 27 April 2015, and the full version was released on 7 December 2015. PlayStation 4, Xbox One and physical PC DVD versions were released on 5 April 2016. The Linux and macOS versions, developed by Feral Interactive, were released on 2 March 2017.
Gameplay
Dirt Rally is a racing video game focused on rallying. Players compete in timed stage events on tarmac and off-road terrain in varying weather conditions. On release, the game featured 17 cars, 36 stages from three real world locations - Monte Carlo, Powys and Argolis - and asynchronous multiplayer. Stages range from 4 to 16 km. Subsequent updates added three more locations in the form of Baumholder, Jämsä and Värmland, as well as rallycross and player versus player multiplayer modes. Codemasters announced a partnership with the FIA World Rallycross Championship in July 2015, leading to the inclusion of the Lydden Hill Race Circuit (England), Lånkebanen (Norway), and Höljesbanan (Sweden) to the game.
Dirt Rally features a large number of vehicles in a wide variety of classes, and 16 manufacturers. It contains cars from the 1960s, 70's, 80's, Group B, Group A, Group R, 2000s and 2010s modern rally, Rallycross and Pikes Peak, with cars having up to 10 liveries.
In terms of image quality, a full 1080p resolution is delivered on both PS4 and Xbox One, with post-process anti-aliasing, along with matching art and effects work, whereas the PC version includes Steam Workshop that consists of preset setups made from each vehicles by users that helps benefit races from different terrains from different tracks (though the game holds up to 100 mods as subscribing to more than 100 mods will not function).

Système de jeu
Dirt Rally est un jeu de course de rallye, orienté simulation. Les joueurs s'affrontent lors d'étapes chronométrées sur pistes goudronnées ou en hors piste, sous différentes conditions climatiques. Lors de la sortie, le jeu proposait 17 voitures et 36 étapes réparties sur trois lieux : Monte Carlo, Powys et Argolis. La longueur des étapes varie de 4 à 16 km.
